In 2012, When we shifted to Thalambur from Thiruvanmiyur, I was trying to find out where Sai Bhajana Mandali is situated around Thazhambur area.

I (LRB) came to know that there is one Shiridi Sai Baba temple in Karanai Village, at Nehru Street, went to that place and fund out a big Board, indicating that Shiridi Sai Temple was existing there since 2010, but many were not aware as to when the temple used to be open and whether regular pooja was conducted etc., One day when I visited the temple, I found out a big board at the temple ground that the Shiridi Sai Temple was under control of one Brindavan Temple Trust. I also found out a mobile phone number.( ) After about a month, I rang up the mobile number, when one Mrs.Gunavathi madam answered my call. I told her that we would like to start Bhajana Mandali at the temple if permission is granted. She said that we may meet and discuss. At that time, I approached late Shri. Boopalan sairam, at Bollineni residential complex and briefed him my intention of our starting a Sathya Sai Baba Bhajana Mandali at that Shiridi Sai temple, Karanai temple. He informed me to contact one sairam Narayanan at Bollineni complex, I contacted Sairam Narayanan.

We three, i.e. myself, Bhoopal Sairam and Narayanan Sairam held a meeting along with Mrs.Gunavathi sairam at the temple and decided 2nd Feb, 2013 (saturday) to start the Bhajana Mandali. I went to our Sholinganallur Sai Center and contacted Sairam Venkat sairam, Shriramagiri sairam the Convenor, MuraliMohan Sairam, Thiagarajan Sairam, and briefed about our intention of starting a Mandali at Shiridi Sai Temple. They all agreed and after consulting Sundaram Temple, then State President Shri Ramani sairam, fixed 2nd Feb, 2013 (Saturday) to start the Mandali. We invited nearby Sai Samithies, such as Thiruvanmiyur Valmiki Nagar, Palavakkam Samithies and started the Karanai Bhajana Mandali. We were only 4 families when started. We went to the nearby village houses and requested them to come to the temple for regular Bhajans, which improved regular bhajans activities.

In the year 2016, State President from Sundaram called us for a meeting and suggested that we should elevate the Mandali as Karanai Samithi on 16th August, 2016 (Saturday). The Mandali was upgraded as Karanai Samithi. L.R.Balasubramanian sairam was asked to be the Convenor, VenkitaNarayanan sairam as Spiritual Coordinator and Bhoopalan sairam as Service Coordinator. We gradually increased members.

To bring awareness around the Karanai Village residents, we held VILLU PATTU function, Pallakku Seva (oorvalam) around the village, brought good sai speakers and invited the residents. Late Shantha Amma was called often to speak about Sri Sathya Sai Organization and their activities. Sairam Shantha Amma was talking about our Sai Bhagwan’s leelas and miracles at the meetings arranged at the Shiridi Sai Temple.

Thereafter we concentrated in Bhajan activities at the temple which brought in some awareness about our Karanai Samithi’s activities. We added a Mandali at Bollineni complex by end of 2016, we started Balvikas classes in Karanai and Bollineni Complex with the able assistance of Indra Bhoopal sairam, Lakshmi Gopalan sairam, and with able guidance of senior Guru Padma Ravindran sairam.

Geetha LRB sairam conducted Bhajan training to about 8 children who used to come and sang Bhajans during our Bhajan days.

As the all Samithies conference at Parthi, the SP informed the conveors that those who are above 70 years of age and completed 5 years of convenor role, should stepdown and give chance to youngsters to take our samithi as convenor and develop the activities.

Hence LRB sairam stepped downby the end of 2019, handing over the convenorship to Venkita Narayanan sairam.
